The second step involves several potent herbal extracts that actually work from within to fight acne and prevent future breakouts. The third step is a topical cream that keeps pores clean and moisturizes the skin.

Our ClearPores review involved a number of our readers who volunteered to try the products for the recommended three month period. We're happy to report that most of them did notice significant decreases in acne severity after just a month of using the 3-part Clear Pores system.

What was most attractive about this treatment option is the 6 month money back guarantee and the 24 hour customer support, which were big pluses for our pollsters that they didn't find anywhere else.

Another interesting part of our ClearPores review was the fact that they make a face and a body system, which is great because most acne sufferers tend to get breakouts on their shoulders, backs and arms as well as their faces.

We will follow the results of these and other ClearPores acne treatment users over the next few months and keep you posted.

What are the Best Acne Vitamins?

You really are what you eat. This means that if you have a problem with acne vitamins and mineral supplements may make the difference between getting your skin under control and suffering for most of your young adult life with outbreaks.

Vitamin A is used as a prescribed medical treatment for acne, not just as an acne vitamin. Marketed as Accutane or Retin-A, megadoses of a specific subtype of vitamin A have been proven to reduce the problem of acne in even the most stubborn cases. However, the dosage required can be dangerous in some cases. For instance, it can cause birth defects to the unborn children of pregnant women who take it. It also causes the skin to be especially susceptible to sun damage. It’s usually prescribed by a doctor only after other regimens have not worked. A course of therapy lasts up to twenty weeks in most people.

Over-the-Counter Vitamins for Acne

If you’re not ready to plunge into the Accutane world, there are several other acne vitamins you can supplement your diet with to promote overall skin health and to help reduce and even cure your acne problems. Ordinary vitamin A supplements, if not taken in too-high dosages, can produce many of the same effects as Accutane, but won’t carry the same side effects. Be careful to not exceed the recommended daily allowance.

Vitamin E is known to be a great vitamin for overall skin health, and it can help fight low-grade cases of acne. While most people take vitamin E by mouth, the capsules usually come in a gel-coated liquid form. The liquid inside each capsule can be applied directly to the skin, but those who have sensitive skin may find this to be irritating rather than helpful.

If you take acne vitamins E and A, you should also take a zinc supplement with them. Zinc doesn’t directly affect the skin, but it does enhance the absorption of vitamin A and helps keep the levels of vitamin E in the blood stable. Zinc, applied directly to the skin, can also kill surface bacteria. A high-zinc concentrate ointment, such as Desitin (used to treat diaper rash), can be applied directly to an acne lesion to reduce its appearance overnight.

Selenium and magnesium aren’t vitamins for acne, but rather trace elements that most people don’t get enough of. The effects of these two minerals aren’t completely understood, but selenium seems to improve skin elasticity, a useful effect when you’re drying your skin out with acne treatments. It also helps boost the effects of vitamins E and A. Magnesium helps balance out your hormones, which can reduce the impact of hormonal cycles on acne breakouts.

A high-quality acne vitamin supplement is called Acnezine, and it contains special nutrients that attack breakouts at their source and reduce the likelihood of future blemishes.

In addition to these specific vitamins for acne, a deficiency in any vitamin may be enough to cause an acne outbreak. Always take a good general vitamin supplement with your acne vitamins, and take all vitamins with a meal that includes an 8-ounce glass of water and some fats to ensure your body absorbs them properly.

New FDA-Approved Acne Treatment

The FDA has just approved a new acne treatment from a company called Therative. It is a hand-held acne treatment device that supposedly incorporates technology previously found only in the dermatologist's office.

The product will be called ThermaClear, and it is reported to be a unique and groundbreaking approach to acne and blemish treatment. According to a press release from the company, this new product will work in a manner similar to laser treatment, a common out-patient procedure used to treat moderate to more severe acne breakouts.

As new information emerges, we will bring it to you...so be on the lookout for a special new hand-held pimple zapper.....

What is the Best Acne Blemish Treatment?

Teens and adults alike are forever in search of the best acne blemish treatment. Surprisingly, it may not be the benzoyl peroxide or salicyclic acid found in OTC pimple medications. Rather, research shows that antioxidants may be the ultimate solution...here's why:

Antioxidants are plentiful in natural foods, such as blueberries, grapes and pomegranates, and are available in man-made specialty supplements as well.

Antioxidants include some vitamins and minerals, including vitamin E, C, A and the minerals zinc and selenium. Even more powerful versions can be found in herbal extracts. Antioxidants serve as a barrier on the skin, preventing oxygen molecules, known as free radicals, from entering the dermal layer and causing skin blemishes. As we get older antioxidants in the skin decrease. Eating foods ripe in antioxidants or taking antioxidant supplements can therefore be the best acne blemish treatment.

Antioxidants can help protect against the invasion of free radicals, minimize skin blemishes and keep the skin healthy and vibrant. The pulp of fruits and vegetables can be used on the skin, or oils with Vitamin E, such as olive oil, coconut oil or sesame oil can be used in a daily application that may be the best acne blemish treatment you have found.

Products containing antioxidants are available, such as niacinamide. It is a form of Vitamin B and is considered safe and fast-acting. A four per cent niacinamide cream is water soluble, does not last in the body for long and therefore does not build up in the system.

Vitamin A with carotenoids strengthens the skin and helps prevent skin blemishes by reducing the production of sebum. It is a powerful antioxidant and a Vitamin A deficiency can actually lead to acne.

Vitamin B complex helps maintain healthy skin tone. The Vitamin B group consists of B1 (thiamine,) B2 (riboflavin,) B3 (niacine,) B6 (pantothenic acid, pyridoxine,) and B12 (cyanocobalamin.) Each Vitamin B element plays a role in creating healthy skin and preventing skin blemishes.

Vitamin C and bioflavonoids are antioxidants required for tissue growth and repair. Chromium treats skin blemishes by reducing skin infection rates. Zinc helps heal tissues and prevent scarring. Vitamin E is another antioxidant that promotes skin healing.

One of the most promising new applications, considered by some to be best acne blemish treatment is a special formula called Acuzine which contains many of the most powerful antioxidants in one comprehensive supplement. As such, it is able to work inside and out to prevent future breakouts and minimize skin blemishes.

Taking a good multivitamin with chromium provides a supplement to meet daily requirements and promote healthy skin. Taking too many vitamin and mineral supplements can be dangerous, so it is important to follow the daily-recommended dosage. Many people suffering from acne will find that with the proper amounts, multivitamins will help clear up their acne.

So when you’re searching for the best acne blemish treatment, don’t overlook the antioxidants that improve your skin naturally. They can not only help reduce skin blemishes and pimples, but also improve overal health by fighting off disease and illness.

Is there a treatment for teen acne?

Teen acne affects just about 90% of the world's population...so chances are if you're around puberty age, you're gonna see some pimples or blemishes start to appear on your face. But don't worry, treatments are available.

Acne in teens affects self-esteem and with severe cases teens don’t even want to leave their homes. Its effect is more on the inside than on the outside, causing emotional stress to many.

It hits teens so hard because the body starts to produce hormones called androgens at puberty. Boys produce more of them and tend to have more severe acne than girls. Androgens make the body’s oil glands work harder and produce extra oil. It combines with dead skin cells and seeps into the pores. This causes tiny hair follicles to swell. Researchers note it has nothing to do with your diet or how often you wash your face. That means that chocolate is not the culprit!

Preventing teen acne is easier than treating it and the first step is to make sure your face is clean...if you can try to wash twice a day with a mild cleanser. Don’t wash more than that, as that could send a message to your glands to produce even more oil.

You should avoid cleansing products containing alcohol, because it strips your skin’s top layer, which means your glands produce more oil and you end up with dry skin and the promise of more blemishes. Thus alcohol-free cleansers are the way to go.

Good advice for preventing acne in teens is to keep your hands away from your face. Even resting your chin in your hands is not a good idea because the bacteria causing acne is present on your skin all the time...but it’s not an issue until it gets trapped inside a hair follicle.

Resist the temptation to squeeze pimples because that usually creates more of a problem with teen acne. You may end up pushing bacteria deeper into the skin, causing the zit to last longer and look worse than if you had left it alone.

Another piece of advice is to shower right after physical activity that caused you to sweat. Take off the sweaty football or hockey helmet as soon as you can and don’t hang around in your team jersey after the game. Heat and friction combined with sweat can cause teen acne problems, so run to the shower!

Try the over-the-counter acne treatments until you find one that works for you. Then stick with it and use it regularly. One of the newer treatments for teen acne is called Acnezine and it is a special antioxidant formula that can fght blemishes from the inside out. You might want to look into this type of remedy if Clearasil and similar products don't seem to do the trick.

If you have a severe case of acne and treatment is not working, make sure you consult a dermatologist. He or she will be able to determine the severity of the problem and suggest the right treatment option for your teen acne.

Phisoderm Acne Treatment

Web reviews of Phisoderm acne treatment indicate there are many satisfied customers.

One reviewer notes that it’s important to follow directions closely if you want the best results as quickly as possible. She said the directions advise you to wash your face thoroughly before applying the product. She thought this odd, as Phisoderm for acne is a skin cleanser. Upon researching the topic she found that is true, but it works inside the pores, so another cleanser is required beforehand.

Twice a day use is recommended on the bottle and reviewers say a little bit of the product goes a long way. They recommend a drop in your palm about the size of a nickel, noting if you use more you’re wasting product and if you use less you won’t get a sufficient lather when you add water. By using the proper amount the bottle will last for months.

Once you’re all lathered up with Phisoderm acne treatment you leave it on your face for one or two minutes. Then you rinse and pat dry. Reviewers say it is very important to pat dry and not to rub, because rubbing doesn’t work. Reviewers say they see results in a couple of days, with most blemishes disappearing after a week.

One reviewer said she bought a 14-ounce bottle for around $8 four months ago and still has a half-bottle left. Another reviewer said her 14-ounce bottle of Phisoderm for acne was $3.79. She bought it for her teenage son and noticed results in a day, with redness decreasing and pimples shrinking.

She decided to try it herself and was impressed by the pleasant scent. She said while most facial cleansers stung, this one didn’t. She left it on for a minute or two before rinsing with warm water and patting dry. Her reaction? Her skin felt clean and fabulous and now she’s a regular every other day user.

A third reviewer cites the great value of Phisoderm acne treatment, noting it’s rare to find a cheap product that works. A fourth reviewer noted results in the first week and was so pleased that she has been using it for five months with wonderful results.

Another happy web reviewer said she purchased her bottle 11 months ago and it’s not empty yet. Another reviewer developed skin problems in her 30s, visited a dermatologist and tried the products recommended. None worked. She switched doctors and her new one told her to try the Phisoderm for acne over-the-counter treatment. She continues to use it three times a day and is very pleased with the results.

If you have a problem with breakouts, you might want to try a natural alternative to Phisoderm acne treatment called Acnezine, a special antioxidant formula that can attack the problem at its source and prevent future breakouts.

Acne Treatment Reviews

We have conducted acne treatment reviews in order to bring you the most important information regarding various treatments and their effectiveness. Experimenting with products can be time consuming, expensive, and pointless if you fail to find a successful remedy. Knowing what the cause of acne is and how each individual remedy treats it may make your decision much easier than letting a dermatologist make the decisions for you.

Our acne product review shows that topical over-the-counter treatments, such as Clearasil and Oxy, are harsh on the skin and require continued use in order to keep their effect. They will often make the condition of the skin worse rather than clearing or preventing breakouts. This is due to the ingredient Benzoyl Peroxide, which has been shown to be the cause of blistering, burning, swelling, and increased skin inflammation in its users.

Accutane is a very effective treatment against severe cases of acne that are unresponsive to other treatments. Our acne treatment reviews show that taking this medication requires much consideration toward the benefits compared to the serious side effects that may occur. The acne product review specific to this treatment also showed that many users suffered from depression and thoughts of suicide. Females are required to also take birth control when using the product due to the significant chance of birth defects developing or possibly even death in the unborn child.

Laser treatment is an option that is highlighted in the acne treatment reviews as being effective in improving the appearance of skin and eliminating breakouts. A yellow laser is used to destroy the bacteria that is beneath the skin's surface. Pimples are unable to form from the oil build up alone. However, there have been no conclusive studies to show the safety of the procedure, specifically in the long-term. Although it will improve the condition now, it may cause worse problems later in life.

A natural cure acne review proves that it is ostensibly the only option that is free from side effects. Natural treatments can clear your skin from the inside out. Vitamins, antioxidants, a good diet, and regular exercise effectively reduce the signs and symptoms of troubled skin. Any natural cure acne review will emphasize how your internal health plays an intricate part in the condition of your skin.

Antioxidants are found in many vitamins, such as Vitamin E. They fight off the negative effects of free radicals, which are biproducts created from your own metabolism and digestive system, so that they cannot attack your healthy cells. Acuzine is a new natural treatment that has proven effective in the acne product review. It contains all natural ingredients that work together to improve the condition of the skin and reduce the appearance of scars.

Acne treatment reviews are the most useful tool in making decisions regarding your skin. It is important to avoid any remedy that may make your condition worse or cause long-term negative effects. Our natural cure acne review considers Acuzine to be one of the best treatments available to clear up and prevent future breakouts. If you have found yourself getting nowhere with remedies that you have tried before, consult acne treatment reviews to gain an understanding of what may provide you the best success.

What are the types of acne?

Many people want to learn about the different types of acne, a condition that affects the skin of mostly the face, chest and back of teenagers and adults worldwide. As you may already know, it can range from mild to severe and appear in various forms.

Acne can be generally categorized into three groups. Acne vulgaris is the most common form that plagues the skin, and is usually considered mild to moderate in severity. Whiteheads, or closed comedones are formed when a pore is completely blocked and the oil (or sebum), bacteria and dead skin cells are trapped under the skin causing a white appearance on the surface.

Blackheads, or open comodones, are formed when a pore is only partially blocked, allowing some of the sebum, bacteria and dead skin cells to escape to the skin’s surface. The dark color is the body’s melanin reacting with oxygen in the air.

Then you have papules, tender, small rounded, red bumps that are inflamed without a head; pustules which are inflamed red circles with white or yellow centers, the common pimple or zit that is most identified with types of acne. More serve types are nodules and cysts. Nodules occupy a larger area of the skin than the other types of acne mentioned above. They are hard bumps under the skin’s surface. Cysts can be painful because they are pus-filled.

The second of the major types of acne is acne rosacea. It appears similar to acne vulgaris but affects most people over the age of 30. These types of acne cause a red rash on the cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin. Papules and pustules can also accompany it, but blackheads are not categorized with this condition. Women seem to be affected by these types of acne more than men. If this left untreated, it can disfigure the nose causing swelling and the growth of excess tissue caused rhinophyma.

The last group is the most severe form and is rare and disfiguring. Acne conglobata is a condition that appears mostly in males from ages 18 to 30 years old. Numerous large lesions that are interconnected beneath the skin’s surface characterize the most severe form of acne vulgaris. This is accompanied with blackheads that are found not only on the face, but also on most of the body. Acne fulminans is a type of acne similar to acne conglobata but it includes a fever and aching of the joints. Pyoderma faciale is a severe type of acne that affects females from ages 20 to 40 years old. It is characterized by large, painful nodules and pustules and is confined to the face. Though it only lasts about a year, it can cause severe scarring and skin damage.

Mild types of acne can be treated with over-the-counter formulas that clear the pores of the skin, such as salicylic acid. Benzoyl Peroxide fights the acne bacteria in the skin and is also effective at controlling mild to moderate types of acne. A dermatologist might prescribe a prescription medicine such as Erythromycin to work at killing bacteria from the inside.

For severe forms of most types of acne or if other treatments have not worked, Accutane or Isotretinoin is prescribed. It is a pill taken orally that decreases the amount of sebum that the glands produce. It is taken for about 6 months and is known to clear skin of virtually all types of acne. But, severe side affects can occur, including birth defects; close observation by a physician during treatment is required.

Home Cure For Acne

Discovering a home cure for acne could be just what you need to get clear skin once again. Natural remedies are free from harmful side effects that may further add to the problem. Vitamins, antioxidants, exercise, and a healthy diet are some of the most successful home remedies for acne.

Knowing and understanding what causes your skin to break out is a good first step in determining what treatment options might work for you. Your skin secretes sebum, which is the natural oil that is produced by the sebaceous glands in order to keep your skin moisturized. This oil should escape through the pores, but when they become blocked the oil will build up and breed with bacteria beneath the skin's surface.

The resulting infection is what we all know as acne. For some people, this will clear up on its own. Unfortunately for most of us, we are in search of an effective prescription treatment or home treatment for acne.

A dermatologist may prescribe an oral antibiotic or a topical medication. These may effectively get rid of the breakouts, but most will cause some side effects. Benzoyl peroxide, which can be found in Clearasil, PanOxyl, and Oxy 5 among many other popular treatments, has painful side effects such as painful burning and swelling. Laser treatment is one of the newer options for getting rid of acne. This procedure is done using a yellow light to destroy the bacteria that is naturally found beneath the skin. When this factor is not present, acne can not form. The downside is that the long-term effects have not been determined and could be dangerous. An alternative to expensive prescriptions and harsh over the counter medicines is using a home cure for acne.

Oftentimes, using a home treatment for acne can be just as effective, but without all of the possible side effects. A healthy diet will keep your body in top shape so that it is able to fight the infection. Stress causes the sebaceous glands to produce excess amounts of oil. Daily exercise can be relaxing and stress relieving. Vitamins and antioxidants, such as Vitamins C and E reduce the cell damage that is caused by acne, boost your immunity, and control infections. Taking vitamins, eating healthy, and exercising regularly are effective home remedies for acne that are beneficial without any risks.

A new natural product that you might want to consider is called Acuzine. It contains all natural skin clearing ingredients, such as Vitamins C and E as mentioned earlier, and also helps reduce the appearance of acne scars. Taking this product once a day either by itself or partnered with exercise is a great home treatment for acne.

Visit your dermatologist to go over your options for treating blemished skin. Although more serious cases often need to be treated with harsh prescription medications or surgical procedures, a home cure for acne just might work in your case.

Microdermabrasion Acne Treatment

A microdermabrasion acne procedure is one to consider if your facial skin has suffered scarring due to nodules, cysts or other severe forms of acne. The treatment will remove the skin’s top layer of dead cells and smooth scarred tissue. This procedure works especially well for those who have suffered rare, disfiguring acne conditions. Microdermabrasion smooths the surface of the skin, removes very fine lines, stimulates collagen production, and reduces skin imperfections.

Microdermabrasion acne scars removal is an option for people whose severe breakouts result in scars on the face. However it will not work on acne scars that are very deeply imbedded in the skin; it is for scars that have not extremely deep, but are closer to the outer layer of skin. It's important to note that acne microdermabrasion is not a good choice for those individuals with the following conditions: rosacea, herpes, warts, eczema, lupus, and diabetes. Other conditions may also influence the safety of the treatment and a dermatologist will help to determine what is best for each patient.

Acne microdermabrasion will further promote new skin cell production in the deepest layer of the skin as it clears dull and congested skin. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and maximum results are achieved between 4 to 12 visits, depending on the severity of the skin in the area. Skin in the acne dermabrasion area will be slightly pink for a couple of weeks afterward.

Patients find the skin from acne dermabrasion to be tight for the first 24-48 hours. One’s skin may feel like a mild sunburn or windburn, but any further pain is not common. Using a good moisturizer along with a high SPF will help soothe skin after the microdermabrasion acne scars treatment. Also, some peeling and light crusting may be expected in the area. No anesthesia is needed for the procedure, since it is non-invasive. Patients can drive home right after. Patients will see results for up to a year and as such maintenance will be required.

Microdermabrasion acne scar treatment is a good option for those who wish to unclog pores and reduce fine acne scarring. It may be the answer for some individuals, but a trip to the dermatologist is the first step to consider before this procedure. Acne microdermabrasion results will last if done properly and the healing of skin proves to heal acne scars, as well as the individual’s overall appearance.

Causes of Cystic Acne

The causes of cystic acne are an overproduction of sebum and a buildup of bacteria in the skin, which may be influenced by the male hormone androgen. Similar to common breakouts, acne is considered cystic when it is severe and causes deep, inflamed and painful legions.

Increased oil production and hormonal changes, such as are found in teenagers, prove too much for the skin to handle and the problem often becomes uncontrollable. Heredity can play a part in just how pronounced the problem is. If a parent suffered from severe acne, most likely the children will be more prone to cystic acne also. Nodules and cysts that produce inflammation and pus on the skin are common symptoms. These lesions can last for months and cause pain and damage to the skin.

Sufferers wonder how to get rid of cystic acne. A good starting point is getting medical assistance and guidance from a dermatologist. He or she might recommend acne surgery, which entails draining and extracting acne lesions. A dermatologist uses sterile instruments to extract imbedded lesions that have not responded to traditional treatments. Another answer to how to get rid of cystic acne is Interlesional Corticosteroid Injections. A dermatologist will inject a mild corticosteroid directly into an inflamed legion. This causes elimination of the cyst slowly over a period of a few days.

No matter what the causes of cystic acne, Isotretinoin can also work to clear up problem skin. Sold as Accutane, it is a prescription drug derived from a man-made form of vitamin A. It is a pill, taken orally, for a range of about 5 to 6 months that lessens the production of sebum in the pores. Accutane has many benefits as well as many side effects, so it's important to learn about these before beginning treatment. But, this drug may be one answer to how to get rid of cystic acne. Accutane’s benefit is clear skin that lasts for years, sometimes with only one treatment. A second treatment may be taken if results are not as positive as the patient desires.

Another potential cystic acne cure is a product called Acuzine, which is a natural alternative to prescription meds such as Accutane and Retin-A. This is a special herbal formula with antioxidants that can treat problem skin from the inside out.

While the exact causes of cystic acne remain unknown, there are ways to safely and effectively treat the problem if you or your child experiences it. Speak to your dermatologist and find out how to get rid of cystic acne once and for all.

Back Acne Treatment

Back acne is a type of skin condition found on the back, rather than the more common places such as the face and neck area. Modern science does not know exactly what causes the outbreaks, but several factors might contribute to it.

It is thought to be possibly caused by tight-fitting clothes that don't allow the skin to breathe and trap perspiration under the skin leading to clogged pores. All of the types of blemishes that are common on the face can also appear on the back. Back acne appears in the form of papules and pustules as well as whiteheads and blackheads. Whiteheads occur when the pore is clogged with bacteria, sebum (or oil) and dead skin cells. Blackheads occur when the pore is partially clogged with the same elements. Papules appear as tiny, red bumps on the skin and pustules are similar bumps that have a yellow or white pus-filled center. These back acne types are more resistant to treatment than the acne that appears on the face.

If you suffer from acne back get rid of the problem in a variety of ways. The most common way is to wash the area after perspiring to reduce the bacteria and sebum. Over-the-counter remedies such as salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide can help to clear the pores, but the solutions need to be in higher concentrationa than would be used on the face. Tea tree oil can also help get rid of back acne by applying it to dry skin in a thin layer at least twice a day. Finally, try to wear cotton fibers while exercising to allow pores to breathe and remain dry.

One of the most effective back acne treatment methods is a new formula called Acuzine, which can be as effective as prescription medications without the accompanying side effects. It is an antioxidant supplement that can kill the bacteria and prevent future breakouts from occurring.

A more serious approach may be needed if back acne does not clear with over-the-counter products. Some of the more powerful drugs that can be prescribed are antibiotics such as erythromycin or tetracycline. These work to kill the excessive bacteria in the body, however, the results only last for as long as the back acne treatment is administered. Plus, you can develop a resistance to antibiotics over time.

If all remedies for back acne treatment do not work, Accutane or isotretinoin, works to reduce the amount of sebum the pores produce. However, because these are more potent, the side effects can be a lot more serious.

Talk to your dermatologist about your options when it comes to treating back acne as well as breakouts and blemishes anywhere on your body. He or she will point you in the right direction.

Acne Vulgaris Treatment

Acne Vulgaris is a form of acne that affects people all over the world. It is mainly found in teens, but adult cases are quite common. The exact cause of the condition is unknown.

All cases begin with a comedo, or acne lesion, that is clogged with oil and bacteria. It lies beneath the skin and grows as the skin produces oil (sebum). The bacteria feed off the oil and it can become enlarged and swollen. If this occurs, the skin in turn becomes irritated as white blood cells try to fight the inflammation.

If the clogged follicle stays beneath the surface of the skin, but does not become inflamed, it is called a whitehead, or closed comedone. If the plug enlarges and pushes through the skin’s surface, it is called an open comedone or blackhead. The dark appearance of the plug is due to the melanin buildup on the surface and not dirt.

Acne vulgaris can cause skin to become inflamed. The mildest form of this inflammation is a papule, which appears as a small, hard bump on the skin. Pustules are similar to papules but they have a white or yellow center. This type of acne vulgaris is inflamed and causes irritation. A nodule is a large legion that can be painful and last for a few months. Cysts are similar to nodules, but are pus-filled and also leave deep scars. Both cause scarring and can last for a few months. A rare form is called acne conglobata. This is a condition that usually affects men between the ages of 18 to 30 years old. It affects the face, chest, back, upper arms, buttocks and thighs. It can cause severe scarring of the body.

Acne Vulgaris treatment can range from over-the-counter solutions such as benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, found in popular topicals such as Clearasil and Stridex, which fight to clear the skin by reducing the bacteria on the surface and clearing the pores. Other over-the-counter methods that can be used are mild scrubs that will not irritate the skin or tea tree oil (an oil from Australia that has anti-bacterial properties).

Glycolic Acid, a fruit acid that exfoliates the skin to cause quicker cell turnover, works to clear pores quickly and fight clogged pores. In its earlier use, it was only used in a dermatologist’s office, but now it can be purchased over-the-counter in low percentages of the acid.

One of the most promising acne vulgaris treatment products is called Acuzine, an all-natural antioxidant supplement that can treat the problem from the inside out, effectively destroying the acne and preventing its return.

For more severe cases, one must visit a dermatologist for stronger acne vulgaris treatment. Medications such as Accutane or Retin-A may be prescribed. Accutane, or isotretinonin, should only be used when the skin has not responded to other acne vulgaris treatment. It is usually very successful to clear skin of even the worst conditions, but it has serious side effects.

Most people will experience dry face and chapped lips when they take Accutane. Those two side effects are the most common; but other side effects are more serious such as birth defects, neurological and other physical problems and possibly depression. However, if your condition has not improved with OTC remedies, and Accutane is the last resort, the promise of a successful acne vulgaris treatment may outweigh the possible risks.

How to Treat Baby Acne

Did you know that there is such a thing as baby acne? Actually it is more common than you might think. Many newborns show signs of acne within two weeks of birth. This doesn't mean that your baby will have blemishes forever; it just needs to be recognized and treated.

Baby acne is one of the most difficult forms to understand. Many scientists still do not know the answer to why your newborn gets blemished skin. Some believe that the hormones received by the mother at birth could be the cause of baby acne. Others believe that medications that the mother is taking while breastfeeding might be the reason. Unfortunately there is no right or wrong answer as to what gives your newborn acne, but there are ways to help prevent and treat it.

There may be no clear answer as to why newborn acne develops, but there are a few ways to help relieve this problem. Be sure to use mild detergents that have been washed thoroughly. This is to prevent irritation. A baby's skin is much more sensitive to strong detergents than ours and may cause the acne to worsen or even cause a rash. Be sure to clean any milk or food from your baby's face gently. Just like with adults, baby acne does not get better if you try to scrub it away. A baby is easily scarred from the smaller things, and acne is no exception, so please do not try to scrub your baby's face. These preventative methods are the best acne baby treatment.

Sometimes the best answer for how to treat baby acne is simple...have patience. Many newborns will close their pumples within two weeks, perhaps a little longer. It is vital that you keep you baby's face clean and to not apply moisturizer or any other acne treatment medications that you have used for yourself. These types of medications are much too strong and can cause irritation to an infant's skin.

Many people may be concerned at first sight of the rash-like appearance. You may even be tempted to take your baby to the doctor to find an acne baby treatment. The reality is that there really isn't any medication for blemishes that is safe for using on a baby's delicate skin.

If you have kept your child clean and laundered their clothes and blankets properly and the problem hasn't gotten better, then it may be something else. There are many different types of skin rashes that are more predominant in babies than in adults, which means if it doesn't look like tiny pimples, then it is best to get it checked by a doctor just to be safe.

You may be concerned about how to treat baby acne, but the only medicine is patience and cleanliness. An acne baby treatment more than likely will never be prescribed because as of today, there isn't a market for such medications. Baby acne may be a nuisance, but it will most certainly go away within a few weeks.

Murad Acne Complex

Trying to decide between a medication like the Murad Acne Complex or an all-natural remedy can be a tough decision. Sometimes what is right for one person may not be the best solution for another. This is why it is important to get as much information from your dermatologist about treatment options, or at least do as much research on your own in order to make an informed decision.

Murad acne treatment is like Proactiv and other skin care systems that offer a number of different products to be used together to resolve skin issues. Each kit comes with a cleanser, exfoliating gel, skin lotion, and of course a spot treatment compound. All of these elements combined create the Murad Acne Complex.

This is quite a lot of medication that you will be applying to your skin and it is no surprise that during the beginning of your treatment you may have the same experience that others do. You may experience breakouts when you first start using this product. This is called the purging process. When you introduce new chemicals to the skin, sometimes the pores get kicked into overdrive and start producing excess oil (sebum) and this is where the extreme breakout comes from. Your skin will eventually get used to the product as long as you continue to use it twice a day as directed.

Even though the Murad acne treatment solution uses chemicals, there are a few natural ingredients. These include apricot kernel, tangerine, lemon and lime essential oils with antioxidants that will provide protection for the skin against environmental damage.

Although the Murad Acne Complex and Proactiv solution are two popular blemish treatments, there are natural products on the market that are more effective, without the potential adverse reactions to multiple chemicals.

One promising natural alternative to Murad Acne Complex is called Acuzine, and it is made up of all natural vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can help clear up pimples and blemishes and prevent future breakouts, while restoring the natural balance of your skin.

Because it is an oral solution, Acuzine works from the inside out, attacking the underlying causes of breakouts. Therefore, you do not need to use multiple products for extended periods of time, like with Murad acne treatment and similar solutions.

Talk to your dermatologist about the various treatment options you have when it comes to fighting acne and blemished skin.

How to Remove Whiteheads

Before you try to remove whiteheads on your own, it's important for you to realize what they are. Many people think that since it looks like a pimple, they can just use normal acne medication and the problem will go away. This is simply not the case with whiteheads.

First lets look at what exactly is happening within the skin that causes a whitehead. Every pore on your body creates oil, called sebum. Sebum lubricates and moisturizes your skin to keep it healthy. Problems begin to present themselves whenever the pore that the sebum is released from becomes blocked. If the pore remains open then the sebum will oxidize and turn black. However, if the pore closes up, the bacteria will begin to grow and leave the remains white, which is where the term whitehead originates. While this may look like a normal pimple, it is definitely not the same.

To begin clearing up whiteheads it should be mentioned that you never squeeze or try to remove them by pressure without the proper tools. If you squeeze and pick you will only break the skin and leave it open for infection and potentially leave a scar. The best way to remove whiteheads from your face is with a comedone remover. Comedone is just another name for the blockage of pores.

This tool is made of stainless steel and has an interesting loop design which helps remove the whitehead without damaging the skin. Using this device couldn't be simpler. You would use this tool immediately after steaming the face with a hot washcloth or after a hot bath. This is to insure that you can easily remove whitehead material. Once the whitehead breaks the top layer of the skin, press the loop end over the whitehead and the trapped material will be dislodged. Once this process is complete, be sure to clean your face again with warm water to ensure that everything has been removed from the pore.

If you find it difficult to remove whiteheads then you may consider using a cream or gel designed to treat blackheads. Many of the medications available for the treatment of blackheads will also be effective for clearing up whiteheads. Most of these medicines include retinoid, which will slow the growth of the white head before it becomes too big of a problem.

Depending on your face type, you may be given either a retinoid cream or lotion that will moisturize the skin and loosen the blockage. If you choose this route for clearing up whiteheads, it is important that you speak with a dermatologist to determine which type of treatment is best for you.

If home treatment isn't the way you'd prefer to go, then please talk to your dermatologist. There are procedures to remove whiteheads that only a licensed dermatologist can do, and sometimes these methods are the best.

Home Remedies for Acne Scars

Home remedies for acne scars exist for those who have embarrassing scarring following a breakout and do not want to deal with an expensive and painful surgical procedure. Although there is no foolproof way of completely eliminating the scars, there are ways to lessen the severity and create a more even-toned appearance.

Acne is a condition where the pores become clogged, preventing the natural oils from escaping to the surface of the skin the way they are supposed to. This buildup under the skin becomes infected as it mixes with bacteria that is naturally present beneath the skin's surface. Severe cases of cystic acne or less severe acne that has ruptured can cause scarring. The sensitive tissue and cells in your face become torn and the scar is formed as a part of the healing process.

If this happens you will want to know how to lighten red acne scars so that you can restore your skin to its normal condition. You might want to speak to your dermatologist first to see what your options are. Common methods for fading acne scars that they may recommend are: dermabrasion, collagen injections, and laser treatment. Dermabrasion is a painful procedure that is done under local anesthetic. The dermatologist will remove surface skin, which may leave your pigmentation uneven and require more than one treatment. Collagen injections may cause an allergic reaction and the results are only temporary. The most controversial option is laser treatment because it has yet to be determined what the long-term side effects will be.

Since all of these methods come with potential complications, many people like to try natural ways of fading acne scars before considering medical procedures.

There are existing home remedies for acne scars that are safe and effective. Collagen is a natural substance that is found within the body already. There are many different face washes that increase the amount of collagen to reduce wrinkles and make skin appear younger. These work effectively in reducing the appearance of acne scars as they make the tissues in the face fuller. If your concern is learning how to lighten red acne scars, you might want to try Vitamin E oil on your skin. For some people this has been effective method for fading acne scars over time.

Home remedies for acne scars are cheaper, safer, and in many cases just as effective as invasive procedures done in a doctor's office. It's just a matter of finding the one that works for you.

A wonderful new treatment that contains hydrolyzed collagen and vitamin E in its formula is a product called Acuzine. It is a natural formula that contains all of the home remedies for acne scars in one comprehensive supplement.

Acuzine is a once-daily capsule that can be taken for fading acne scars as well as reducing the potential for future breakouts. The best part is that because it is an all-natural mix of of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and herbal extracts, you don't have to be concerned about side effects as you would be with a surgical treatment or prescription medication.

Knowing how to lighten red acne scars with natural treatments can be helpful to those who were under the impression that a costly visit to the dermatologist was the only option. For severe acne scarring, you may just need a more powerful treatment, but for mild to moderate cases, home remedies for acne scars just may be the solution.

Acne Products

The are many acne products on the market today that can help clear your skin. However, they don't all work for everybody. Sometimes a simple over-the-counter cream can do the trick, other times you may need a more powerful prescription medication. Learning about all of your options is a good starting point.

There are pores all over everyone's face. They must remain open and clear in order to let natural oils drain to the skin's surface. In the event that a pore becomes clogged, the oil builds up and mixes with bacteria to form a painful, inflamed pimple.

Fortunately, there are acne skin care products that can not only help get rid of pimples, but also prevent new breakouts in some cases. Over the counter acne products are usually the first stop because they are relatively inexpensive and easy to use. Oxy, Clearasil, and Stri-Dex are the most common topical treatments that you can purchase without a prescription.

Benzoyl peroxide is the active ingredient in Oxy, Clearasil, and many other acne products that you can find at your local drugstore. It is also a main component of Proactiv Solution, which can be purchased online. Although it can help with mild to moderate cases of skin blemishes, some users may experience itching, burning, and swelling of the treated areas.

Stri-Dex contains salicylic acid, which also has its share of possible side effects. This product can cause skin irritation, allergic reaction, peeling, and burning. Most over the counter acne skin care products have a significant chance of making acne worse rather than improving the condition. This is because they contain harsh ingredients that your skin may be sensitive to.

Short of prescription medications, some of the best acne products are natural supplements, namely antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that can remedy your skin problems from the inside out. Rather than topical applications that are quite often ineffective, natural supplements are taken orally, and the nutrients within can help treat the pimple, rejuvenate the skin and prevent new breakouts from occurring. All of this is accomplished without the potential side effects of OTC and prescription acne skin care products.

One of the newest and best acne products on the market is a supplement called Acuzine, a natural antioxidant formula with vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts that have been shown to help eliminate acne, reduce scarring and restore natural balance to the skin. It is a revolutionary acne skin care product which might just hold the solution to blemished skin.

Besides over the counter topical solutions and natural supplements, there are a number of prescription acne products such as Retin A and Accutane, which contain stronger active ingredients for severe breakouts that don't respond to other treatments. These meds come with some side effects, so they should be a last resort for most individuals.

Talk to your dermatologist to find out best acne products for your skin. A cream or oral supplement may just work for you. If not, perhaps you need a stronger medication. In any event, rest assured that the solution is out there somewhere.

Adult Acne Treatments

You may be surprised to learn that you can get severe acne well into your 30s, 40s, 50s and beyond. Fortunately, there are adult acne treatments that can be quite effective.

There are several causes of adult acne, with stress usually a contributing factor. Many adults lead more stressful lives than they are aware of. Eventually all this stress begins to take a toll on your body. Internal tormoil manifests in your skin, and sometimes presents as acne. While stress affects both genders, women run the risk of having acne that is caused by low-grade cosmetics. Cheap cosmetics can trap bacteria in your pores and increase your chances of breakouts. Other contributing factors to the onset of adult acne may include hormonal imbalances and reactions to certain medications, including birth control pills.

The best treatment for adult acne may simply be a lifestyle change. Reducing stress can certainly help alleviate the problem. Try to use higher grade cosmetics, and find out if any medications you are taking are causing adverse reactions.

There are a number of conventional and alternative adult acne treatments, so speak to your doctor or dermatologist to find out which one is right for you. They may suggest a simple cleaning regimen of benzoyl peroxide. Many adults have found that simply using benzoyl peroxide is an effective adult acne cure. This will not work for everyone though. Your doctor may determine that you need a stronger medication such as Accutane, an oral prescription medication for severe adult acne.

The side effects from some of the more powerful adult acne treatments can be quite painful, so many individuals look towards natural treatments first. One of the newest products for treating mild to moderate breakouts is called Acuzine, and many consider it the best treatment for adult acne, as it works from the inside out, naturally clearing up acne and preventing future breakouts from occurring.

Natural treatments such as Acuzine contain vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other powerful nutrients that minimize adult acne without the potential side effects of harsh over-the-counter-medications and prescription acne drugs. Using heat to combat acne is nothing new, but it is the first time someone has made a hand-held device designed for home use. Whether the Zeno is right for you is another story though.

The Zeno is unlike any instrument we've seen before. This tiny little device comes adorned with tiny LED lights and sounds that let you know when to replace the battery and when to repeat the process. This is quite possibly the flashiest device made to treat acne that has ever been introduced to the general public. It has a very sleek design that could quite possibly explain the $225 dollar price tag. However, when you take away all the flashing lights and the chrome casing, what you are left with is nothing more than your standard heat treatment method of fighting acne, which can be done with a simple rag and hot water.

Rather than the conventional method of using medicated strips, creams or pills, Zeno acne treatment involves "heat shock response". This is nothing more than a concentrated amount of heat over the pimple that is ready to emerge. The Zeno zit zapper destroys the bacteria wihin and causes the pimple to literally self-destruct. This means that the pimple will completely heal from the inside, eliminating the chance of infection and allowing the skin to become healthy again. The level of heat used by the Zeno zit zapper is nothing to worry about; it will not damage your skin with repetitive use. Which is nice because you will be using it quite a lot.

The Zeno acne treatment method will require that you go over the same spot repetitively. First, you press the power button and wait for the tip of your Zeno to reach the pre-set temperature for treatment. When you hear a beep to come from your Zeno, this means that you are ready to begin treatment. Next you apply the tip of the device to the pimple that you want to treat and press the Treatment Activation Button. The button will now light up green and the treatment process is under way.

You will be able to monitor your progress with an audible tone every 30 seconds, with a final beep once the Zeno acne treatment process is complete. By design, you must wait 10 seconds before you can treat another pimple, and it is recommended that you let treated pimples rest for one hour before you begin another treatment.

This device isn't designed for anyone with severe acne, just those people who have blemishes appearing once in a while. The Zeno acne treatment has been proven to clear up 90% of blemishes treated and is FDA approved. If you are looking for a new device to show off to all your friends, then the Zeno might be what you are looking for. With all its flashing LED lights and pacer tones, it is quite impressive. However, the Zeno zit zapper is nothing more than an age-old treatment method modernized for today's youth.

Acne Medication - Prescription and OTC

Choosing the right acne medication is an important part of treating blemished skin. There are a number of different treatment options available, each with their own advantages and disadvantages.

Clearasil is the most commonly used over the counter acne medication, and is helpful in treating mild to moderate cases. This medicine contains benzoyl peroxide, which can help to dry out pimples, but may cause severe stinging, itching, peeling, and swelling on the areas that it is used on.

Proactiv is widely recognized due to its advertisements featuring celebrity endorsements. This treatment contains a three part regimen of a cleanser, toner, and lotion to heal and prevent breakouts. Proactiv also contains benzoyl peroxide, which is known for its side effects mentioned above. If you are wary of these treatments because of the side effects, perhaps you should consider a natural treatment instead of harmful prescription acne medication options.

For more severe cases, Accutane is a prescription acne medication that is considered to be a last resort treatment when your skin has not been responsive to any other product used. It is an oral medication that can be quite effective, yet can cause side effects such as dry skin, aching joints, and even severe birth defects if a female user becomes pregnant during use.

Retin A is a topical tretinoin acne medication that is used to improve the appearance and texture of the skin. Its side effects include sensitivity to light, swelling and dryness of the skin, and blistering. Results will not occur immediately and it must be used continuously, even after acne has cleared, to remain effective.

One of the newer over the counter acne medications is called Acuzine, and it is a breakthrough natural treatment that can be as effective as some of the prescription acne medications, without the potential side effects.

Acuzine contains Vitamins C and E, aloe vera leaf, hydrolyzed collagen, and other therapeutic natural ingredients. The antioxidants protect your skin's cells and tissues from the harmful effects of free radicals, which are unstable byproducts in the body that contribute to infections. Hydrolyzed collagen stimulates the natural production of collagen in the body to improve the appearance of the skin and also aids in your body's ability to retain a healthy amount of water to prevent moisture loss. This innovative acne medication is free from side effects and can benefit the overall health of your entire body.

Talk to your dermatologist to determine which treatment is right for you. Prescription acne medications are usually the strongest, but you may be able to clear up acne breakouts with an over the counter acne medication such as Clearasil. As an alternative, you may want to try a natural antioxidant supplement, as it offers the least potential for nasty side effects.

Acne Cream Treatment

For mild to severe breakouts an acne cream treatment can be quite effective. Although they do not work for everyone, they are worth trying to clear your skin of unsightly blemishes. To get you started, we'll discuss the various acne cream options, and your dermatologist can help you figure out which is right for you.

There are a number of over the counter and prescription acne cream treatments to choose from, depending on the severity of your skin problem. Each has its advantages and disadvantages, with varying degrees of potency.

The most common acne cream ingredient is benzoyl peroxide, and it can be found in such popular medications as Clearasil, Oxy and Proactive Solution. In small amounts, benzoyl peroxide is the magic bullet, but it is important to know what concentration works best for your condition. Too high of a concentration level can leave your skin dry and scaly which can lead to more problems down the road.

Another typical acne cream ingredient is alcohol. Once again, alcohol in small concentration levels will do wonders for the face, but too much can lead the face to become dry like with benzoyl peroxide. This can be found in many popular OTC medications.

For serious cases of acne, your dermatologist might recommend a more powerful prescription acne cream treatment such as adapalene, sold as Differin, or Retin A (tretinoin), yet these also come with the potential for dryness, scaling, burning or pruritus. Some users experience increased sun sensitivity. Although these powerful drugs can be quite effective, you may be allergic to the acne cream ingredient so monitor your situation carefully.

One of the newest treatment options are natural supplements such as Acuzine, with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other therapeutic nutrients that can remedy pimples and unclear skin from the inside out. Instead of a cream for acne rosacea or other skin problem, these are pills taken twice a day that completely eliminate toxins in the body that are responsible for causing skin infections.

The acne cream ingredient that can cause side effects will not be present in a natural supplement, so you can safely and effectively fight acne without worrying about allergic reactions, burning, itching or other irritating effects.

Whether you have a serious acne problem or the occasional break out that leaves your face discolored, there is an answer out there for you. For more severe cases a prescription acne cream treatment might be your only option, but before you try one you ought to look at over the counter applications and natural treatments. It may be an acne cream ingredient such as benzoyl peroxide or a supplement ingredient such as bioperine extract that is the solution you have been looking for.

How to Get Rid of Zits

Teenagers across the world as well as many adults want to know how to get rid of zits. Regardless of your age, race, or sex, everyone at some point in their life has a few battles with blemished skin. Sometimes the best solution for this problem are the home remedies that people have been using for years, but other times you may need a little medication to completely rid your face of those dreaded zit outbreaks.

Before you start picking at your face or buying expensive medications, it is very important to know what zits are. Zits, as you may already know, are a slang term given to pimples. Each pore on your face is constantly producing an oily substance called sebum that protects and lubricates the skin. The problem is that these pores get clogged with skin cells that have been shed and remain on the face. Now that the pore is clogged, it becomes a breeding ground for bacteria that is trapped in the pore. This is why zits form and the surrounding area becomes red and puffy. Now that you know where they come from, let's talk about how to get rid of zits.

There are home remedies for getting rid of bruises and getting rid of dark circles under your eyes, so it's only natural that they have a home remedy for zits. One treatment is the use of toothpaste on the affected area. Basically you would apply a small dab before you go to bed at night and then wash it off in the morning. The toothpaste works like a sponge and completely dries out the affected area and dislodges any oil that may be stuck in the pore. This is great for those that have the occasional pimple pop and would like to get rid of it as soon as possible.

Another home remedy for zits is to dab fresh lemon juice on the area where you have pimples. Again you would do this before you go to bed and then wash off in the morning with warm water. You may need to repeat this process for a few days, but it will most certainly clear up your face. So now if someone asks you how to get rid of zits, you can share one of these helpful home remedies with them and quite possibly make their little pimple problem a little bit easier to manage.

Now that you know how to get rid of zits you don't have to stress out over them which could make your face more oily and create more problems for you. Simply try one of the techniques above...if this doesn't work, you may need a pimple medication or natural treatment, both of which can read more about on this site.

Effects of Retin A

Much recent evidence points to the beneficial effects of Retin A in treating more serious cases of acne, as well as aged, sun-damaged skin and stretch marks. However, as with most prescription medications, there are potential adverse reactions that you should be aware of before you begin treatment.

Retin A, or tretinoin, is a derivative of vitamin A and is available in a variety of forms. Retin A cream is weaker than the gel as the medication is less able to penetrate the skin in cream form. It acts to unplug acne follicles and bring the pimple to the surface, as well as prevent new pimple formation.

Since one of the effects of Retin A cream applications is to extrude the pimple, it initially appears as if it is making the situation worse. As such dermatologists recommend that you give it time to work, sometimes up to a year or more for maximum Retin A results.

Although minor side effects of Retin A are quite common, they are usually mild and will subside within six to eight weeks. They may include unusual darkening of the skin, slight discoloration or redness. Slight peeling of the skin has also been reported in many cases as has swelling. You should avoid direct sunlight in the early stages of using Retin A, as it will dramatically increase your chances of sunburn.

Don't let the adverse effects of Retin A discourage you from discussing this treatment regimen with your dermatologist; for serious cases, this can be the only remedy that works for you. Retin A results speak to the efficacy of this medication in getting severe acne breakouts under control.

If you have blemished skin you might want to try natural treatment options before you look into potent prescription applications. There are natural formulas with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that can be as effective as a Retin A cream or gel.

One such product that may offer similar effects of Retin A is called Acuzine, a breakthrough natural formula for treating acne and blemished skin and also helping to prevent new pimples from developing.

There are many other treatment options for acne, from benzoyl peroxide OTC medications such as Clearasil, Oxy and Proactiv to oral drugs like Accutane and you should certainly check with a dermatologist to find out which is right for you. Retin A results are favorable as are those for natural products such as Acuzine, it's just a matter of figuring out which is right for you.

Cures for Pimples

Acne suffers are always searching for effective cures for pimples. With so many options available, it is tough to know which will work best for each individual. A dermatologist may prescribe a medication or perhaps a pimple home remedy could be just as effective without any side effects. Learning the advantages and disadvantages of all treatment types is a helpful way to find one that will work for your skin.

Pimples are infections that arise from pores becoming clogged. Clear pores are necessary for natural oils to escape to the surface of the skin. When these oils get trapped, they build up and mix with bacteria and form the acne infection. People of all ages and races have a good chance of getting pimples at some point in their life.

Contributing factors could be excess oil production from stress, the inability to fight infections due to poor diet, or hormone fluctuations that begin at puberty. Discovering how to get rid of pimples starts with recognizing which contributing factors may be causing your outbreaks.

Popular cures for pimples, such as Proactiv and Accutane, can have unwelcome side effects. Proactiv contains Benzoyl Peroxide, which is the active ingredient in most prescription pimple medications (Clearasil, Oxy and others). This ingredient commonly causes swelling, burning, and redness to occur in some users. If a female happens to become pregnant while taking Accutane, the baby has a high risk of developing birth defects. Knowing how to get rid of pimples safely will enable you to avoid any side effects that may occur with harsh medications.

A pimple home remedy that will reduce stress, and perhaps help regulate hormones, is exercise. Eating a balanced diet and getting a full supply of important nutrients as well as drinking water instead of sugary carbonated drinks will keep your body in shape so that it can fight infections properly. Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants should be a part of any pimple home remedy. Vitamins C and E contain antioxidants which will prevent cell damage and assist in the healing process. Vitamin C helps to form collagen to reduce the chance of post-acne scarring and correct the skin pigments.

One of the new effective cures for pimples is called Acuzine, a natural antioxidant formula with vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts that can not only treat acne, pimples, blackheads and blemishes, but also prevent future outbreaks.

For many people, a natural treatment such as Acuzine is the answer to the question how to get rid of pimples, as it doesn't expose them to the potential side effects of prescription medications or painful, expensive acne laser surgery.

If you have found yourself struggling with embarrassing outbreaks of pimples, then it is necessary to find an effective treatment. Ask your dermatologist about the various cures for pimples, and decide which one is best for you.

Blackhead Removal

Have you found yourself in search of better blackhead removal options? Not only do they cause you great discomfort when they are first discovered, but removing blackheads improperly can leave the surrounding area sore and open to infections. There are however a few home remedies that can make those dreaded black heads easier to deal with.

Blackheads can affect any type of skin but more often the oilier the skin, the more at risk you leave yourself. They are formed when there is oil (sebum) that is trapped within a pore. As the oil trapped in the pore begins to oxidize it turns black and becomes hard, forming a plug. More often than not you will experience blackheads in areas that are more difficult to properly clean like the sides of the nostrils or near the eyebrows.

These are not the only places that blackheads appear though. Other common places are on the chest, back, or anywhere that might be susceptible to a build up of sebum. Blackhead removal is important because if left untreated it will continue to grow and stretch out the pore. Once a pore is stretched out then it is more likely to develop into another blackhead or a whitehead in the future unless you watch the area closely.

Removing blackheads is not a very hard process to do by yourself, as long as there is no infection. One method you might consider for is to first soften the skin either by taking a hot shower or by using a hot compress over the affected area. By softening the blockage, you are making it much easier for the oxidized sebum to be removed without damaging the surrounding skin tissue or the affected pore.

Before even attempting blackhead removal, be absolutely sure that your skin is clean and softened up as much as possible. Wrap some gauze around your index finger and thumb and squeeze with moderate pressure. If you do not have gauze in your medicine cabinet you can also use a cotton ball to keep bacteria from entering the pore after the blackhead has been removed. Removing blackheads can be tricky, but it is important to remember that if you have to apply too much pressure then you shouldn't try any further. You do not want to damage the pore and give yourself a future problem.

There is a professional blackhead remover that is available in almost every beauty supply store. This tool is your best weapon for removing black heads. You may have even seen this tool without knowing its purpose. On one end is a scoop with a hole in the middle of it, and the other is a lance. Basically you would use this tool after cleaning the skin and completely softening the area. Removing the blackheads is made easy with the scoop end. Position the scoop end over the area and apply pressure. With very little pressure the blackhead remover works its magic and dislodges the oxidized sebum without damaging the pore.

Whether you are removing blackheads with a special blackhead remover or with a simple cotton ball, one thing is for certain...they can be easily removed as long as you know what you are doing. Just remember to not apply too much pressure, and properly clean and soften the face before attempting to remove the blackhead. Whatever you do, do not pick at your blackhead, this will only create more of a problem.

Acne Laser Surgery

People who want to avoid the risks involved with prolonged use of antibiotics may consider acne laser surgery to clear up their skin. Laser surgery acne removal is a fairly new method of treatment that may seem less invasive than most of the other options available. Although surgical removal is an effective method, it should not be your first attempt at getting clear skin. There are other ways to improve the condition of your skin, many of which are not as expensive or potentially problematic as a surgical procedure.

When your pores become clogged, the oils that are normally excreted to the skin's surface are trapped. As these oils mix with bacteria that is also under the skin, an infection is created. This can happen to anyone at any age after puberty is reached and can be an embarrassing problem that does not go away easily. For some, it may require the use of a treatment beyond conventional creams and supplements to get rid of the symptoms.

Acne laser surgery works by the use of a yellow light to destroy the bacteria that produces acne. It has also been proven to increase the natural collagen to prevent scars from forming after the acne has cleared. Although acne surgery may seem like a good option, it has its side effects just like many of the other treatment options.

For some people, it is quite effective in clearing up skin. Other people have little or no results from this laser acne surgery and may also be left with uneven skin pigmentation. Laser acne treatment is also still in its beginning phases and long-term effects have not been determined. Many will experience discomfort and painful swelling that requires additional treatment while in the healing process. Acne laser surgery will usually need to be done on more than one occasion and can be quite expensive.

Natural acne skincare is the best way to avoid the uncertainty and side effects of laser surgery acne treatment. Antioxidants are one of the best ways to protect yourself from the damage caused by free radicals. These can be found in both vitamins C and E, which work great together. Aloe Vera is another effective natural acne treatment. It decrease inflammation, boosts your immune system, and heals the infections. Taking a combination of these vitamins and antioxidants daily will effectively combat acne without the risk of side effects.

One of the newest natural treatments on the market is called Acuzine, and for many it is an effective alternative to acne laser surgery. It contains vitamins C and E, as well as aloe vera leaf and other antioxidants, vitamins, minerals and herbal extracts that may improve the condition of your skin. This supplement is only taken once a day and will clear acne, improve the appearance of your skin, as well as fade any acne scars that you may have and prevent future breakouts.

Acne laser surgery should not be a procedure that you choose before a lot of careful consideration. It has painful side effects, and the long-term effects are still relatively unknown. Natural acne treatments, such as Acuzine, are a safe and effective alternative to expensive, and possibly dangerous, acne surgery, and are worth considering.

If you have persistent blemished skin, talk to your dermatologist about acne surgery and see what he or she recommends to clear up your skin.

Natural Acne Skin Care

Natural acne skin care involves treating breakouts and blemished skin with natural treatments, rather than surgical procedures and harsh medications. For many people, these alternative remedies can provide an effective, safe solution to their skin problems.

Treating acne can be difficult as each individual will respond differently to different treatment methods. The first step is determining what might have caused the breakout. Once that is determined, you can look into a conventional or natural acne cure.

Allergies to food or cosmetics are frequently responsible for the onset of acne in adults, while adolescent-onset acne is generally the result of increased oil (sebum) production by glands in the skin in response to (lots and lots of) hormones. Although not much can be done about hormones, an important first step in natural acne skin care for both types is a careful evaluation of any changes in diet or skin care products that coincide with the onset or worsening of acne symptoms. Stress and potential environmental factors should also be considered, as well as any family history of allergies.

Perhaps one of most effective natural acne remedies is modifying both the content and balance of the foods we eat. A definite correlation has been shown to exist between acne and diets that are too high in fat and too low in fiber. This is because both dietary fat and excess toxins in the body promote increased sebum production in the skin, which in turn promotes acne and other skin disorders. A diet based on whole, unprocessed foods, including fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grain breads, and cereals can help in removing excess fat and toxins from the body before they are secreted through the skin.

Increasing the intake of Omega-3 fatty acids, either as part of the diet or as a nutritional supplement, is also recommended as a natural acne skin care treatment. These essential fatty acids (EFAs) are derived from coldwater fish like tuna and salmon, and from dark leafy green vegetables, flaxseed oils, and some vegetables. Although the effectiveness of the Omega-3s in treating acne is not yet fully understood, they have been shown to reduce, and sometimes eliminate, acne and other inflammatory skin conditions.

In addition to a healthy diet, supplements of vitamins A, E, and B6 are often beneficial in reducing acne and promoting overall skin health. Vitamin A, an important antioxidant and immune system enhancer, is effective in reducing the production of sebum. Vitamin E enhances the absorption and utilization of vitamin A, and vitamin B6 may be helpful in the treatment of acne resulting from hormonal changes in the body, especially before and during the menstrual period.

Some patients with acne also find herbal treatments to be helpful natural acne cures. When used topically on the affected area, herbs like tea tree oil and lavender can act as antimicrobial or anti-inflammatory agents. When taken internally, herbs (like Burdock) can prompt the elimination of toxins from the body or act as an antibiotic (like Echinacea).

Nutritional studies have shown that patients with moderate to severe acne share a deficiency of zinc, and that zinc supplements are an effective natural acne skin care treatment. A necessary component in the oil-producing glands of the skin, zinc helps in the healing of infected tissue and the prevention of scarring. Several studies have found zinc to be as effective in clearing up acne as antibiotics or Accutane, but with none of unwanted side effects generally associated with these prescription treatments. Zinc is especially effective in the form of zinc gluconate and zinc sulfate.

One of the most effective natural acne remedies is a new product called Acuzine, which contains herbal extracts as well as antioxidants that can not only treat acne, blackheads and skin blemishes, but also alleviate acne scarring and prevent future breakouts from occurring.

Natural acne skin care is a growing segment of the healthy and beauty market, and there are a number of choices for clearing up your skin, from creams to pills to herbal remedies. Talk to your dermatologist to learn about your options, and discover if a natural acne cure is right for you.

The Causes Of Acne

What are some of the causes of acne? Is there a way to get rid of acne for good? Well, these questions can't be answered with a simple "Yes" or "No". There are many factors that contribute to the onset and severity of acne.

At puberty, the sebaceous gland grows and will inevitably begin producing more oil than your body is accustomed to. This causes the pores to become clogged, and the oil continues to build up under the surface. As it mixes with natural bacteria, an infection develops. This is when the acne becomes visible and often painful.

People for many years have thought that stress was one of the leading causes of acne. While it is not proven that stress will give you acne, it is known that when your stress levels increase the oil glands become stimulated and begin producing oil. Lowering your stress level through relaxation or exercise is a great way to help prevent an outbreak due to excess oil secretion.

Another misconception is that oily or fried foods are acne causes. This isn't too far from the truth, however. Although these foods are not what causes acne directly, a poor diet can decrease the amount of essential nutrients, namely antioxidants, in your body. Nutrient deficiencies manifest themselves in your skin, and can cause blemishes, acne and other skin conditions.

Acne causes a number of additional problems if left untreated. It can leave behind deep scars or discolored spots on the skin. This is why it is important to treat your acne as soon as possible to avoid these issues in the future. If you already have scarring from acne, there is no need to worry. Dermatologists have been hard at work in the treatment of acne scars for some time now and have a wide array of treatments for every skin type and budget. There are many treatment options available for the removal of acne scarring, so many in fact that it is recommended that you speak with a dermatologist to understand which option is best for you.

Although modern science does not know the precise causes of acne, it does know a whole lot more than it did twenty years ago about the subject. There are now a number of different medications you can purchase to treat blemished skin.

One of the most promising of these new medications to treat the underlying causes of acne is called Acuzine, a breakthrough natural formula with vitamins, minerals, herbal extracts and other nutrients that can help treat acne, blackheads and pimples, as well as reduce the chance of future outbreaks.

To understand more about what causes acne please talk with your dermatologist. He or she will let you know what your treatment options are, and you can discuss conventional methods as well as natural ways to treat the underlying causes of acne.

How to Get Rid of Acne Scars

Dealing with acne, maintaining clear skin, and finding out how to get rid of acne scars can be a frustrating process. There are plenty of choices when dealing with the appearance of acne scars. It is important to know each of your options before making a decision about which one is right for you.

Acne starts underneath the skin's surface in the pores. Whenever a hair follicle becomes clogged, it prevents the natural oil (sebum) from escaping to the skin's surface. This blockage of sebum reacts with natural bacteria to create the inflamed infection. A common mistake that acne sufferers make is squeezing the infections. This increases the chance of scarring because it causes the inflammation to become worse. Unfortunately, some people who are careful with their skin will still get acne scars. The appearance and frequency of them will vary from person to person due to the fact that everyone's skin is different. Getting rid of acne scars is not a simple process.

Scars can be just as embarrassing as the acne itself. For fast removal of acne scars, you may choose to see a dermatologist. The majority of options that they will recommend are abrasive and take more than one treatment. Collagen injections, radiotherapy, laser treatment, dermabrasion, and chemical peels are all popular methods used to get rid of acne scars. Most of these are painful and have side effects. Radiotherapy has been shown to increase the risk of developing cancer. Dermabrasion is one of the top choices for fast removal of acne scars because it can be done in a doctor's office under local anesthetic. This procedure is painful and requires healing time followed by the possibility of future treatments.

Some scars may still be visible even after most of these treatments. As such, to avoid painful procedures and potential adverse side effects you might want to try a natural approach to get rid of acne scars.

Natural ways of getting rid of acne scars involve the use of vitamins and minerals to regenerate healthy tissue and restore collagen. Aloe Vera has healing qualities that help reduce the appearance of scar tissue. Hydrolyzed Collagen is contained in many products that make skin appear younger. It restores healthy tissue in order to make the surface of the skin softer and smoother.

One of the newest products on the market to get rid of acne scars is Acuzine Acne Treatment, a breakthrough formula that not only treats acne, pimples and blemishes but also works great for getting rid of acne scars.

It contains both Aloe Vera leaf and Hydrolyzed Collagen among other vitamins and minerals that will improve your skin's condition and appearance. This new formula has been shown to get rid of acne scars within weeks of use. Regular use of Acuzine can also prevent any future acne break-outs so that there will be no chance of further scarring. The product is free from any side effects and can provide you with painless and fast removal of acne scars.

Invasive procedures are expensive, have side effects, and can be unnecessarily painful. There are safe and effective ways to reduce the appearance of acne scars dramatically if not completely. Acuzine is a carefully researched formula that is worth consideration when getting rid of acne scars safely and naturally.

Best Natural Acne Treatment

If you are looking for the best natural acne treatment, you are not alone. Millions of sufferers around the world are forever in search of a safe, effective natural way to clear up their skin, without having to use harsh topical medications or potentially dangerous prescription drugs.

Acne is caused by your pores becoming clogged, a situation which prevents the escape of normal oil secretion to the skin's surface. The oil builds up under the skin, mixes with bacteria and creates a small infection just beneath the surface. Unfortunately, acne can occur in anyone from pre-teens to the many ages of adulthood, and for most it is more than just a "minor problem".

Common misconceptions are that acne is caused by not washing your face enough or eating greasy foods. The truth is that it has little to do with the cleanliness of your face and you could actually be washing it too often. Greasy foods are also a myth because anyone can get acne no matter what their diet primarily consists of.

You may wonder why a natural acne treatment may be better than other over-the-counter or prescription medication. Although conventional treatments may be effective at clearing up acne, you will also run the risk of being exposed to their many potential side effects. For example, benzoyl peroxide can cause painful irritation, skin redness, and itching. Retin A (trentinoin) can make the skin more sensitive to light as well as cause dryness and swelling.

As such, the best natural acne treatment will be one that can effectively clear up your skin without the adverse reactions associated with prescription and OTC medications.

So what are the natural treatments for acne? There are a number of antioxidants, herbal extracts and other powerful nutrients that can help in the fight against acne breakouts. Vitamins C and E are both powerful antioxidants that work to reduce skin damage while also increasing the synthesis of collagen. Other ingredients such as aloe vera, bioperine, and alpha lipoic acid (ALA) help to improve your body and skin's condition in a safe and natural way.

One of the best acne natural treatment options is a breakthrough new product called Acuzine. It contains all of the acne-fighting nutrients we discuss above, which can not only clear up your skin but provide the anti-aging benefits of antioxidants as well.

Overall, this great acne natural treatment product will reduce scar tissue, enable your body to absorb vitamins and nutrients better, and train your body to fight off the acne infections caused by bacteria.

In your search for the best natural acne treatment, it will take patience in finding what is right for you. Talk to your dermatologist to go over all of your options, and see if natural treatments for acne such as Acuzine are the right solution. Some people with severe cases of acne might need strong prescriptions medications to do the trick. But if you can clear up your pimples, zits and blemishes with an acne natural treatment, you'll be much better off!

Proactiv Solution...what is it?

By now I'm sure you have seen the Proactiv Solution commercials with Jessica Simpson, P Diddy or Vanessa Williams. They seem to be everywhere, especially on cable TV and late at night. You may be asking yourself: What is this product all about and does the Proactiv acne treatment work?

Proactiv solution is a 3 product skin cleansing system that was formulated by two dermatologists about eight years ago. The products each serve a different purpose with the ultimate goal of removing acne, blemishes, blackheads and the like, and clearing up your skin.

The first acne product is called a Renewing Cleanser which will exfoliate your dead skin and remove any impurities. It also contains a compound commonly found in Oxy, Clearasil and other popular acne treatments, called benzoyl peroxide, which can help kill bacteria and soften blemishes.

The next product is called Revitalizing Toner, and it removes the exfoliated skin cells, unclogs your pores and removes excess oily buildup. It contains herbal extracts such as aloe and rosa canina that act to balance skin tone.

The final step in the Proactiv Solution is the Repairing Lotion, which also contain benzoyl peroxide and other ingredients to heal blackheads and blemishes, and prevent future acne breakouts.

Proactiv acne treatment has become quite popular in recent years, thanks to an extensive marketing campaign featuring well-known celebrities, all of whom have actually experienced skin problems in the past. The fact that it was developed by two Stanford-educated dermatologists adds an air of legitimacy to it as well.

We searched extensive for unbiased testimonials to answer the burning question: Does Proactiv work? What we found was that there were many more positive reviews than negative and for the most part people were satisifed with the results.

Of course, Proactiv solution doesn't work for everyone...some people reported very little effect, especially those with severe acne. Others reported significant results for the first few weeks/months, but then the acne returned as time went on. A few had slight allergic reactions when sweat mixed with the solutions.

Overall though, Proactiv Skin Care Solution appears to be an effective, safe natural treatment for acne and blemished skin.
